Tattoos Around Us
Tattoos are interesting to me. I have never gotten one nor do I ever plan to. It’s a bit foreign to me really. Having said that, I realize “tats” are very popular. Latest statistics 
say 1 in 7 adults have a tattoo. If the age is narrowed to 26 – 40, the percentage rises to 40%!
Some time soon I’ll write further about this growing cultural phenomenon. For the time being, I’ll just say “To each his own.” Those who get them have their own reasons and it’s a matter of personal freedom — and that’s fine with me. No problem.
A Different Kind of Tattoo
The Book of Revelation tells us about a different kind of tattoo. In fact, two of them: one from God and one from the evil one. Before the end of time, EVERYONE on earth with bear one mark or the other.
Eight times, the Book of Revelation mentions a mark or seal “on the forehead.” Four refer to the mark of the Father (7:3, 9:4, 14:1, and 22:4). Four are concerning the mark of the beast (13:16, 14:9, 17:5, and 20:4). I do not believe these refer to a literal mark or tattoo on the forehead. Rather, this is symbolic.
On Your Forehead
The forehead is symbolic of the thought processes. The forehead represents our mental o
utlook and way of thinking. There is a gigantic battle over the minds of men and women. Satan is busy tattooing 666 into the thought processes of the world. Meanwhile, God is implanting His eternal Word into the minds of His people.
We are witnessing a CLASH OF WORLDVIEWS today. Perhaps our greatest weapon in this war is God’s Word. The call of our day is James 1:21. “Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and RECEIVE with meekness the IMPLANTED WORD, which is able to save your souls.”
