The Thursday edition of USA Today ran a editorial piece written by London Islamic cleric
Anjem Choudary. He placed the blame for the Wednesday massacre on the French government who allowed magazine Charlie Hebdo to defame Mohammed via cartoons and satire. He asked, “Why did France allow the tabloid to provoke Muslims?”
He then made a clear statement of Islamic position concerning those guilty of “blasphemy.” KILL THEM.
In the wake of Paris (plus innumerable precious atrocities), liberal voices such as Howard Dean, John Kerry, and our President Barak Obama continue to declare that such terrorism is far from classic Islam. They say that it is not even Islamic at all!
So, let’s look at the bible of Islam: the Quran. There we find this passage:
57 Indeed, those who abuse Allah and His Messenger – Allah has cursed them in this world and the Hereafter and prepared for them a humiliating punishment. 58 And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly born upon themselves a slander and manifest sin. 59 O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful. 60 If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease and those who spread rumors in al-Madinah do not cease, We will surely incite you against them; then they will not remain your neighbors therein except for a little. 61 Accursed wherever they are found, [being] seized and massacred completely. Quran 33:57-61 (bold is my emphasis)
In Islamic understanding, “cursing” amounts to “killing.” Verse 61 equates “accursed” with “massacred completely.”
It is time for us to recognize the nature of this battle. I am NOT saying that all Muslims are terrorists. I have close friends who are peace-loving, wonderful people. But, it seems to me that Islamic LITERALISTS — who believe and practice ALL the words of the Quran — are committed to the overthrow of the non-Muslim world.
I have no problem with evangelistic zeal. As a Christian, I daily pray for the conversion of many to faith in Jesus. But the question is the MEANS of that conversion. Will it be by force, intimidation, and murder, or will it be by the love of God shared and believed?
Jesus never said, “Believe in Me or I will kill you.” He said, “Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28)
As Christians, we never feel the need to defend the honor of Jesus by force. In fact, He is despised and rejected by men (Is. 53:3). He ultimately will defend His own honor in the final judgment.
It is time for the Western world to wake up to the nature of Islamic militance. It is at the door. This is not just a political or social war — a clash of populations. It is a spiritual battle for human lives. In that respect, we who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord are soldiers in this warfare.
