The Core of Our Faith

“One Year Bible” New Testament Passage
Matthew 10:24-11:6

Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31 (NKJV)

The foundation of our faith is God Himself. Christianity is not simply a self-help program designed to give you a better life. It will certainly give you a better life, but that is not the core. Our faith rests ultimately on God and what He is like – His characteristics – His attributes.

How you view God will determine how you trust Him. If you see Him as distant and uncaring, you will relate with Him long-distance. If you see Him as angry and malcontent, you will either resent Him or run from Him. If you see Him as holding you in the palm of His Hand, you will love Him.

How do you see God today? Is He near or far? Scripture is clear! He is working even now is secret ways to show you the magnitude of His love and care over your life! You are not an after-thought in His otherwise busy day. Even the MINUTE DETAILS of your life are under His care and control.

Therefore, rest in His love. Relax. Be secure in the very attributes of our God. You need have no fear. We can walk in confidence that our God KNOWS and He CARES.
