“Remote Access”

He has a new OPERATING SYSTEM for us.
Love/hate relationship to computers. Certainly helped us, but are they also hurting us. If you’re tech-savy, you love it. If you’re not, you’re probably frustrated.
Maybe even fearful. If you’ve seen the “Terminator” movies, maybe you’re thinking computers are going to take over the world. So you want to move to Montana and hide out in a cabin.
A few phrases have surfaced surrounding computers: “hardware problem” “software problem” “user problem” “computer glitch” “garbage in/garbage out” (GIGO). We speak of “download” “upload” “megabyte” “gigabyte” “RAM” “ROM” “
22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:22-24 (ESV)

1946, ENIAC – 8ft. by 3 ft. by 80 ft. and ran off punch cards.
The term “personal computer”:
Nov. 3, 1962. NY Times article by John Mauchly:
“There is no reason to suppose the average boy or girl cannot be master of a personal computer“.
1971 with the introduction of the microprocessor, personal computer was made possible. Then the first microcomputer was produced in 1977 and personal computers were off and running.
Remote Access is a computer term that means just what it says – to access a hard drive from a remote location.
Someone else WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING accesses your computer to fix or update what’s going in your hard drive.
Three Steps to Getting Things Right
1. I need HELP
I am not self-sufficient!
26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 2. I need GUIDANCE
I need someone else to guide me. We usually hate backseat drivers.
6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. 7 For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. 8 That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. 9 But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you… Romans 8:6-9 (NLT)
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. Romans 8:14 (NLT)
3. I need God to FIX me.
Only God knows how to fix this one.
The spirit of man [that factor in human personality which proceeds immediately from God] is the lamp of the Lord, searching all his innermost parts. Proverbs 20:27 (Amplified)
